Too busy to turn out the light, she was in a rush of infatuation.

How long did it take to invent the light bulb?  Give it one more try.

It was like Poof! a light bulb above his head that was all.

Too busy to flip the switch, she merely forgot; years of obsession and fascination, in seconds were lost.

Too busy to pay the electric bill.

How long did it take to invent electricity?  Wait… Oh, wait…

It was like an electric shock to his mind, all at one time.

Too busy to pay the electric bill; so her power was shut off, stopping the clock from telling time, punctuality- fuck off.

Too lazy to look at the clock.

How long did it take to invent time?  Ticktock, ticktock…

It was a split second epiphany which changed our lives, now we pray to it day and night.

Too lazy to look at the clock, too lazy to be on time-she sat around all day wasting time writing rhymes.

Too lazy to do dishes, too lazy to make the call, now dishes and paint chips shatter and fall from the walls.  A light bulb, some electrical wires, and a clock were the only witnesses to it all.
