Dear Mr. City of Minneapolis,
My name is Terry Scott Niebeling. I am a bicyclist, poet and essay writer. I live in Minneapolis, I am an avid bike enthusiast and general traverse artist; I commute by walking, biking, or taking Metro Transit. I am very interested in organizing a Bike Walk Week Event that emphasizes the benefits of taking alternative means of transportation in Minneapolis and the surrounding metro area.
The City of Minneapolis Bicycle & Pedestrian Section needs a candidate with knowledge and experience of bicycle travel. Not a person who goes out on the weekend for a ride, a person who bikes year round.
My experience in transportation, especially biking, and general knowledge of travel, make me an exceptional candidate for your position. My writing, internet presence, and marketing education put me in a position to get the word out and bring information to the general public. With my organizational skills and written communication experience I feel I am the person for this job.
Aside from that I am very interested in learning more about plans to make Minneapolis a more bike friendly city, hopefully the friendliest in the country. The benefits of less personal vehicle travel and more alternative means of transportation are vast. Promoting environmentally friendly options while solidifying the health of citizens is the keystone of importance to our city.
I am very excited to hear more, and I am interested in any position that will enlighten, educate, and benefit the public as a whole.
There are so many great opportunities for transit in The City of Minneapolis, besides personal vehicles, making every day an adventure.
TERRY SCOTT NIEBELING
